Portrait of a girl - Layla, in watercolour.

I had to have another go at this portrait of Layla. I am much happier with this one, but I will probably have another go at a later date. I have learned to sketch in a 2B pencil for the outline of a watercolour - that way the pencil doesn't spoil the clarity of the paint.

The blog makes this look very pale, but the original has good depth and colour, which I'm pleased with... you could click to get a better view, but it still doesn't quite show it..

Flamenco dancer 2 in watercolour.

Watercolour of flamenco dancer. I am happier with this one as my second attempt, but still have a way to go! It makes you realise just how difficult it is to get your imagination onto the paper! Still, I shall keep working on it...

Flamenco Dancer - watercolour.

My first attempt at a flamenco dancer. I am pleased with the colour and movement, but need to work at the hands and arms. I want to get them right - defined, elegant and passionate. Watch this space over the next few days for more.

Studies of pointe shoes...in watercolour.

I am afraid that quite a few of my paintings and drawings have been disappearing from my blog.... well, not disappearing, but they have been downloaded. Much as I am flattered by this I am also disappointed that people don't even bother to leave a comment or ask if I mind. So, I have put watermarks on these, which is a shame, but hey, its my blog and I can cry if I want to...

Water colour of girl.

Not how I wanted this to turn out at all. Too pale and wishy washy. The drawing I liked ,but its obviously too long since I painted. Will have to work on it. Grrrrr!!
